Spring invites a sense of renewal, and the home is where that transformation quietly begins. A considered clean goes beyond routine, it becomes a ritual of care, a gentle clearing of what no longer serves.
Whether you're rolling up your sleeves or handing it over to the professionals, this checklist will guide you through a deeper clean, one that feels just as good as it looks.

Before You Begin - Set the Mood
Cleaning can feel like a chore... or a ritual.
Open the windows. Put on your favourite playlist. Light a candle.
The goal? To make your space feel lighter, not your head heavier.
WHOLE HOME RESET
These small details bring your home back to life — room by room.
→ Dust ceiling fans, vents, and corners
→ Wipe skirting boards, doors, and light switches
→ Clean window sills and tracks
→ Wash interior windows for streak free light
→ Vacuum thoroughly (including under furniture)
→ Mop all hard floors with a surface safe solution
→ Spot clean walls and touch points
→ Wipe over baseboards, handles, and door frames
STYLE TIP
Once surfaces are clean, less is more. Declutter one surface in each room and leave it styled with intention — a candle, a ceramic bowl, a fresh stem.
BEDROOM RESET
→ Strip and wash all bedding
→ Vacuum under and behind beds
→ Wipe down bedside tables and lamps
→ Freshen up wardrobes (inside and out if you’re up for it)
→ Reset your bed with care — tuck the corners, plump the pillows, mist with linen spray
→ Rotate or lightly clean under your mattress to remove dust and allergens.
KITCHEN CARE
→ Wipe cupboards (handles, tops, and edges)
→ Clean benchtops, splashbacks, and appliances
→ Scrub the sink and polish the tapware
→ Empty and clean inside the fridge
→ Clean stovetop and rangehood
→ Empty pantry of expired items
→ Wipe microwave and oven (inside as well)
KŌVA NOTE
Avoid acidic cleaners on natural stone benchtops like marble, travertine, or microcement — use only pH neutral, surface safe products.
BATHROOM RESET
→ Scrub showers, tiles, and grout
→ Deep clean basins, vanities, and mirrors
→ Polish tapware
→ Clean toilets (inside, outside, and around base)
→ Wipe cupboard exterior and interior
→ Replace towels and mats with fresh ones
→ Check and refill bathroom essentials (soap, toilet paper, candles)
REFRESH TIP
Add a small bunch of eucalyptus or a new hand towel set to instantly lift the space.
THE 'OFTEN MISSED' AREAS
→ Vacuum under lounges and cushions
→ Dust blinds and wipe curtain rods
→ Clean behind doors and corners
→ Wipe inside bins and disinfect lids
→ Shake out doormats and entry runners
→ Clean stair railings and skirting
→ Wash pet bedding or toys
→ Refresh your entry space — clean the door, sweep the step
A freshly cleaned space lightens your mental load too.
You’ll think more clearly, move more freely, and enjoy your home so much more when it's looked after with intention.
